This course aims to develop the competencies for managing micro- finance organizations.
In addition to a broad-based understanding of business management,the course provides the lerners with an understanding of the theories and practices of entrepreneurship and innovation in a variety of organizational contexts. These range from new business ventures and small businesses to not-for-profit organizations . You will have the opportunity to explore entrepreneurial behaviours and acquire entrepreneurial and business management skills.Course participants will understand how to strengthen communities and engage with various stakeholders in the process.
The objectives of the training is to impart participants with knowledge and skills on:
- The role of micro-finance in socio-economic development
- Micro-Finance planning and assessment and Management
- Effective management of Micro finance organizations
- Fund utilization and management at group and project level
- Action Planning and Evaluation of MFIs
This course is designed specifically for Micro finance organizations.
Exercises: After they have read the material for each unit, students are expected to test their own Learning by completing some relevant exercises and tasks.
Assignments: There are six assignments
(continuous assessment tests) and one examination to be offered at the end of the course/ project Paper. Assignments and Continuous Assessment Tests account for 70% while Examination accounts for 30% of the mark. Upon completion of the course you shall be issued with a Diploma Certificate and a course transcript.
